Those are important time slots for human beings, psychologically, and they definitely move a lot in those spaces. Really, it was mostly that Dan felt guilty for getting up so early and leaving him with no warm place to get the rest of his sleep, and then getting involved with the furnace for hours XD But i specifically wanted it to be a thing where he just literally followed the sun like a cat all day until it was going away and needed to be replaced.
