Really good guess, but as far as I know, color blindness doesn't filter light of certain spectrums from reaching the brain - just doesn't interpret them correctly into a visual impression of color. IE, the rods still see the 'light' of any spectrum for its light/dark data whether the cones are functioning correctly or not. The programming is sorted into different wavelengths for convenience of distribution but it doesn't actually rely on your ability to perceive red, green, etc - just on the ability of your eyes to take in those wavelengths at all. The only thing that blocks them would be a physical filter, such as covering the eyes completely or actively blocking the wavelengths(as Dan was able to do with the goggles). This is further emphasized by the fact that when people are under, they are actually SEEING only in black and white. That's what causes the memories issue later - because the brain gets tweaked with to stop processing color data, and that messes with memory perception even once normality is restored. I don't think it's going to be permanent.
