It's cute because he's mostly oblivious. I still haven't decided if he picked something that revealed he'd been poking around in Dan's room as a test/hint or if he's just completely unaware that such a thing is inappropriate. His ideas of social interaction are so broken that the creepy stalkerishness is just his way of saying 'ILU DAN', in much the same way that my cat expresses her affection for me by BITING MY FACE OW.
