I think Ror randomly killing someone for the first time would freak Dan out regardless, but compounded with his anxiety over Ror still fighting against his infection and what it might make him capable of, and with what the director just said about the mutation, it's like ten times worse. D:
I'm actually planning another longfic in this verse that will deal with how the legitimately homeless and destitute dealt with the infection and how people managed to survive with it despite not having a friend to hole up with. That'll be even MORE of a wakeup call for Ror; he's not used to being on the privileged end of any spectrum, ever. At least he would have been remembered, by Dan if no one else; there are a large number of people who wouldn't be.
